Isaac Bermudez, MS, BCBA

Vice President

Isaac Bermudez is the Vice President of Brett DiNovi & Associates California and has been providing services in applied behavior analysis since 1998.  He received his graduate degree from the California State University, Los Angeles in Psychology with a specialization in Behavior Analysis. In 2005, he became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and in the same year was awarded the Julie Vargas Award for student research at the California Association for Behavior Analysis annual conference. Isaac has worked for several providers in Southern California and and has been in executive leadership for the past 10 years. During that time Isaac has held positions such as Clinical Director, Director of Clinical Operations, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Behavior Analyst, and Executive Director. Isaac’s focus is on developing and growing healthy ABA practices and works closely with the clinical and administrative teams to create and implement systems to provide quality ABA services to individuals of all ages and various diagnoses. Isaac is qualified to provide ABA services in all environments including schools, homes and communities. In addition, Isaac stays active in the field by conducting workshops, symposiums, and being a presenter at state, national, and international conferences on topics such as school support and consultation, behavior phenotypes, behavior intervention plans, mentorship, performance management and more. He has co-authored several articles for the Association for Professional Behavior Analyst (APBA) monthly newsletter on issues related to functional assessments and technology for behavior analysts. Isaac’s professional philosophy is to support and build a healthy ABA practice by creating the systems to passionately support its staff so they are in the best position to deliver the highest quality of services possible. Isaac’s primary aim is to help clients achieve socially significant outcomes towards a more independent life.

Laura Iglesias, M.Ed, BCBA

Senior Clinical Director

Laura Iglesias started working with children with Autism and other developmental disabilities in 2005.  She has a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Teaching with an Emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis.  She became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2014. Laura has a passion and drive for helping children reach their developmental milestones using Natural Environmental Teaching.  She has a solid sense of teamwork and organization skills which lead to a hands on and collaborative approach to training and working with staff and families. 


Vanessa Buelna

Director of Insurance Services

Vanessa Buelna has worked within the ABA industry for over 8 years helping families gain accesses to ABA services through their insurance. Her main goal is to ensure families are able to access ABA services without any surprises. The constant changes in ABA with regards to insurance funding has been challenging over the years but stays informed to ensure our company and families are taken care of.


Emma Nartea, MS, BCBA

Behavior Consultant

Emma Nartea is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has been providing behavior analytic services since 1999.  She initially received her graduate degree in Counseling with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2006 and a second graduate degree in School Psychology with a Pupil Personnel Services credential in 2017.  Emma has experience working with adults and children with developmental disabilities, autism, and emotional/behavior disabilities, their educational support team, and their families.  Emma’s professional background includes conducting Functional Behavior/Analysis Assessments, Skills Assessments, Psycho-Educational Evaluations, Temporary Special Needs (1:1) Assessments, and Educational Related Mental Health Services Assessments.  She has experience developing, implementing, and overseeing individual behavior intervention plans and class-wide positive behavior management programs.  She assists in the Individualized Education Program process and provides collaborative consultation to and training for parents, educators, and other support providers.  Emma also has been a Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Instructor since 2015 and continues to provide support to human services professionals to safely manage crisis situations.


Chelsie Schultz, BA, RBT

Clinical Coordinator

Chelsie Schultz attended The University of Surrey in Surrey, England where she received her BSc in Psychology in 2009. During that time, Chelsie spent her work placement year working at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in London, working as an Assistant Psychologist in the Mental Health Outpatient Unit.

Chelsie began her career in Behavior Intervention as a Behavior Technician in 2012 and has taken on additional roles within the profession such as Parent Consultant as well as training and leading a team through preparing progress for BCBAs for multiple years. Chelsie became a certified Registered Behavior Technician in 2017 and remains certified.

At present, Chelsie exhibits a leading example for Clinical Associates and provides a high level of 1:1 intervention for children of various ages, as well as an adult client aged 28. Chelsie provides such services across school, home and community settings and is currently working with a BCBA to take on additional leadership responsibilities regarding Video Fidelity Training for new hires. Chelsie is creative within sessions and welcomes additional, motivating and exciting ways to target goals from team members. It is one of Chelsie’s future goals to enroll in a Master’s program to further her education.


Kyley Rouse, M.Ed., BCBA

Behavior Consultant

Kyley Rouse has worked with individuals with developmental disabilities throughout High School, was a nanny to triplets from 2008 till 2010, and then started in the field of ABA in 2013, post college graduation. Shortly after beginning in the field, she became an RBT, and continued to pursue her BCBA. She received a Masters of Education (M.Ed.) with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University and is now a Board certified behavior analyst, and works as a behavior consultant at BDA-Ca. She loves utilizing ABA in the natural environment and coming up with creative ways to meet people where they are at. Mentoring and teaching so people feel confident and excited about the field, as well as seeing families lives change is her favorite part and why she does what she does. She wants people to feel empowered and free to live their very best lives and to find their purpose. She enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling, kickboxing, eating a lot of food, drinking coffee, going to shows, and binge watching the office and crime documentaries. 


Kimberly Mattatall, MA, BCBA

Clinical Manager

Kimberly has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis since 2004. During that time, she received her BA in psychology from UCLA in 2007 and her MA in psychology and applied behavior analysis from the Chicago School of Professional  Psychology in 2014.  Kimberly has worked with clients ranging in age from 9 months to 40 years old and has experience working with individuals diagnosed with autism, Down Syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome, fragile X, Angelman syndrome, William syndrome, and many more. She is passionate about providing naturalistic ABA and designing goals and programs that are uniquely designed for the specific needs of her clients and their families and for sharing her love of providing excellent ABA with those she works with.


Rachel Vargas, MA, BCBA

Behavior Consultant

I have always enjoyed working with kids with special needs whatever their needs may be. I first started working as a music teacher and had many students with special needs join my classes. I was inspired by one of the moms of one of my classes to go into the ABA field. From there it’s all history, I entered the ABA field and never left. I was promoted through the ranks of Parent Consultant to Supervisor and eventually to Behavior Consultant with Brett DiNovi & Associates California. I graduated from my ABA program in 2016 and received my BCBA certification in 2018. I always strive to create a fun, engaging and as naturalistic learning environment as possible for my clients with my motto of Different not Less.


Monica Flores, MA

Clinical Coordinator

Monica has worked in the field as a 1:1 and parent trainer for over 5 years. She is currently in the process of completing her coursework for an M.S. in Behavioral Psychology from Pepperdine University. Her prior educational background includes an M.A. in Social Entrepreneurship and Change from Pepperdine University and a B.S. in Political Science from UC Riverside. Monica plans to sit for the BCBA in the fall of 2020 and hopes to pursue a PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis from Utah State University in the future.


Taylor Long, M.Ed., RBT

Lead Behavior Interventionist

Taylor Long has over 8 years of experience working with special needs learners. Taylor started off in the school district and then worked for a few private practices before coming to BDA-CA. Currently is working on completing all the necessary steps to become board certified. Taylor is very excited to continue to grow with BDA and take those next steps in my career. Credentials/Education: RBT, BA in psychology with a concentration in mental health, and M. Special Ed.


Minh Nguyen, MA

Clinical Coordinator

Minh Nguyen is a Clinical Coordinator that services clients in the Orange County Region in California. He provides leadership to behavior technicians in the field and develops behavior intervention programs. Minh has worked in the field of ABA for about 7 years with diverse populations in multiple settings. He received his Bachelors in Psychology from California State University of Long Beach and his Masters in Psychology from Capella University. He is planning to take the BCBA exam to become a future Board Certified Behavior Analyst.


Fiorella Hurtado

Human Resource Generalist

Fiorella has over 5 years of experience in the field of administration within numerous industries and has worked over the past four years in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. Fiorella graduated from Randall University with her Bachelor’s in Business Administration.

As Human Resources Generalist, she is responsible for overseeing onboarding, recruitment, analyzing current processes and procedures, ensure compliance with State and Federal laws, and nurture a positive working environment. In addition, she performs all Human Resource tasks and responsibilities in California with the support of Headquarters in New Jersey.
