Acceptance and Commitment Training

ACT in Schools

Mental Health and behavioral disorders are diagnosed in 1 out of 7 children from the ages of 2-8. The average age of depression is 14.5 as compared to 1978. Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) is perhaps the missing link to traditional behavior analytic interventions to supplement direct contingency management.

In conjunction with data collection procedures, ACT helps to develop mindfulness skills, which have been shown in countless studies to decrease stress and increase focus while committing to behaviors that support an individual’s chosen values.

BDA’s ACT Team offers training and consultation to train your team to incorporate ACT to address your student and staff needs:

  • Teacher Workshop 1: ACT for Self-Care
  • Teacher Workshop 2: ACT for Learners
  • On-going Coaching and Consultation
  • ACT for Parent Support
