Research-Based Assessments and ACTually Using Them (1.0 Learning CEU)

$10.00

For many practitioners in the field of behavior analysis, skill assessments are secondary to Functional Behavior Assessment/Practical Functional Assessment (FBA/PFA). Oftentimes, practitioners will complete an FBA/PFAs, and create behavior plans involving common strategies (e.g., extinction, functional communication training, behavior momentum, etc.) but information is rarely provided on a learner’s capabilities for easy tasks to gain momentum, or for a succession of skills to actually train as replacements to behaviors of concern. Whether due to lack of time or concerns with one’s own competency for completing skill assessments, teams are left without a true baseline of a learners’ skills, which may result in haphazardly targeting skills with a response effort that is not appropriately matched to the learner (i.e., one that is too high or too low). To address this dilemma, this training will provide a hands-on approach for use of the most commonly used, available, and accepted assessment tools and curriculum guides, so that practitioners can provide a more well-rounded approach and learners can become a more independent member of their homes, schools, peer groups, and communities.
