The Learn Unit: Meaningful Difference in the Everyday Experiences of Behavioral Staff (1.5 CEUs Supervision)

$15.00

Research has outlined that providing 50-100 learn units per hour is a robust predictor of student/client outcomes in ABA treatment with children with developmental disabilities. In essence, the learn unit is a fundamental component of any ABA treatment program measuring student outcomes and teacher presentation and productivity. In this presentation, we will discuss what is learn unit, what are the components of a learn unit, and utilize a tool on how to evaluate the learn unit related to accuracy and rate. In addition, the presenters will review OBM strategies that can be used to monitor and enhance the creation of learn units for behavior technicians and supervisors in ABA programs. The presentation will conclude with a simple decision tree algorithm to help clinicians problem solve learning challenges relating to the learn unit opportunities.

Objectives:

1. Participants will be able to identify the various components of a quality learn unit (i.e., a trial, learning opportunity).

2. Participants will review the literature associated with outcomes and opportunities. Participants will review how to measure a quality learn unit

3. Participants will review OBM literature to support behavioral staff in creating quality learn units.

4. Participants will review OBM strategies to track the quantity and quality of a learn unit Participants will be exposed to a decision tree to better problem solve learning challenges
